GABRIEL LOPEZBack in the late nineties I worked briefly with a prude editor who objected to the beauty of flesh. Now I publish my own content and can exhibit human flesh all I want.
These photos were taken in a studio apartment in Staten Island. The subject was at the time a young film student named Gabriel Lopez. The photog was me, Lou Bardel.
We wanted to do edgy photography that highlighted his course of study. Since then I've seen famed photog Michael Muller do the same exact shot, using the video camera as an extension of the phallus.
Gabriel and I were just two young men having fun.
Today Gabriel lives in Austin, still writing, editing film, playing music and making killer paintings of Don Quixote and cosmic sunsets and such.

We did our "Extended Phallus" shot over ten
years ago. Muller did his last year and he's
famous. Maybe we should be too!
In 1997 Gabriel was professing a theory
he called "Emotionism".
Interpret the symbolism however you will.
Gabriel didn't have a problem getting head but I think you could call him try-sexual and the cam was looking pretty good that night.
Some people say he looks like Che Guevara in this shot.
